Meet The Team

 

 

David Crisp   AKA   THE BUTCHER

I’ve been in the business of serving customers with the best service and products for 46 years, having learnt the craft in the A.M.C. chain of old-fashioned shops around Auckland in the early ‘70s.

During the early 80’s I learned about quality meat in the boutique shops of Sydney’s North Shore — the presentation, display and service that goes with selling the best quality meats.

In the summer of 1981, Wendy and I moved to sunny Gisborne, in search of the "Endless Summer ".
while I was there, I advanced my skills working for and managing shops for Gear Meat Co. Gisborne
These shops were famous for the Gear Meat Pie,  the pie division was making approx 9000 pies a week ,
my love of pies had started, I left Gisborne in late 1987, moving back to Auckland looking for a job ! 

I’m gathered a team around me who share my passion for excellence in offering high-quality, healthy food. I’m proud of them.

These days they allow me a little time off to indulge my passion for travel and riding Harley Davidson motor cycles.
 

Jarat Crisp   CUSTOMER SEVICES

Jarat has been hanging around the shop since he was 3 years old, helping make sausages after school when he was 13 years old before becoming a Seaview apprentice. In 2008 he deservedly won the Northern Apprentice Butcher of the Year Award. Jarat is a keen downhill mountain biker and snowboarder.

Jarat now  works  in another industry now , but you may spot him  helping out on the weekends in the family owned business

Jarat has just become the proud father of a baby boy , Connor. Maybe another butcher, Congratulations to Jarat and Nadine . 
Jarat and Nadine have become the proud parents of a baby girl, congratulations. 

 

 

Tim Crisp  /  BUTCHER

Tim was born the year I started the business. He’s been in and around the shop since he could walk and has finished  his apprenticeship in addition to being the businesses’ sausage manager and creator .  
 

 

Shayne Major  /  BUTCHER

I first met Shayne in 1978, when he was a apprentice for Foodtown at Barrys Point Road. He joined the team in 1988, bringing nearly 40 years experience to the team. Shayne is a very keen sports fan, especially soccer, having been involved with Takapuna Football Club since the 1970s. A keen family man , he has two sons.
 
TRACY SORENSON  / BUTCHER

Tracy has rejoined the team @ SEAVIEWMEATS ,  having  worked there  before in 2002 - 2003.
She brings a wealth of experience , both in customer service and gourmet presentation.                                
we are very excited to have her back.
 
 

Peter Turner   / BUTCHER

Peter has been in the business for 23 years and is now a valuable team player on the weekend team.  He brings nearly  40 years experience to the shop. Another keen car man, he has three children; two  sons  and one  daughter. Peter is our only South Island trained butcher !

Wendy Crisp  

What can i say , Wendy's input since 1988 has been invaluable, she has  been the backbone of a  very successful business .  

She has raised our three sons, run a large  family home and  the accounting for Seaview for 25 years.

CONNOR CRISP

Junior member of the team at SEAVIEW, more like the mascot .

He pops in every now and then,  to check on the quality and service.
He loves our Gluten Free cheerios .
